What Is The Best CBD Dose?

What Is the Best CBD Dose?

It’s interesting that “CBD” has become such a buzz word but that real information beyond vague legends seems to be scarce. We wrote an article on things to look for when buying CBD products, which covered many differentiators between CBD products that are on the market. And, of course, we believe that information is essential. But, AT LEAST as important is

  1. How is the CBD product consumed?
  2. How much actual CBD is in the product?

How is the Product Consumed?

Was the CBD your friends told you about eaten, rubbed on their skin (topically), vaporized, or sprayed into their mouth? Because the consumption methods differ, so do the absorption and availability of the CBD. We wrote another article called “bioavailability,” which covers more details on absorption and availability of the CBD.

How Much Active Ingredient is in the “Dose” of Product You Are Consuming?

Figuring out how much CBD is in your dose is easy, right? It should be! Reputable CBD product makers will tell you how much CBD is in each dose.

How Much CBD Should I Consume?

The amount you should consume depends on many variables:

  1. Your weight
  2. How it’s consumed
  3. What effect you are trying to get
  4. Your unique body chemistry

1mg-5mg per 10 pounds of body weight is a good general rule. Most of our customers find 2mg per 10 pounds is ideal for our oral spray products. This graph shows how that dose would be based on your body weight.

You probably also ought to know how long it takes for your body to uptake the CBD in each of these cases. We’ve created this handy dandy chart for ya below.

It is important to note that the oral spray and vapor cartridges have the fastest onset.

Edibles are the longest lasting but take the longest to take effect and require the highest doses.
